~ It's So Lonely Without You ~

~DADDY DID YOU CRY~

Today I felt old and knew that others didn’t know

I was so scared and lonely and couldn’t tell them so

I cried daddy because I wondered if you had ever felt

the same when no one had time for you

and no one called your name

Daddy did you cry when you were all alone

Did you cry even when everyone was at home?

It’s no fun being old when you are ignored

It’s no fun when people you love are strangers

walking through the door

They don’t understand our feelings and don’t take

Time to see that in the older days more kindness

And LOVE was given to the elderly

Daddy it’s so hard for me to know I was guilty of

the same

not to have patients and know you were

in pain

that if you were anxious, or if you

Couldn’t hear I should have been understanding

and always been near

No matter what I was told or how I felt

I should have stayed by your side and tried to help

Daddy did you cry and was your heart hurt

When no one payed attention when you told

Them that you hurt

When you told them you were ill and was not

Feeling right

Daddy did you cry when all you got was a fight

Daddy did you cry when you died all alone

Daddy did you cry when we left you there

forlorn

Even with the way man’s heart is today

I Know you did forgive us and

it is us who will  have to pay

God was there with you I know you weren’t alone

I know God was there with you and he took

you home

Dedicated to my Dad Tom who passed  away in February 2008

I still think of him daily and wish his life

could have been sweeter for him. He didn't live with me, but I have many sweet memories of my Dad, I know he had a very hard life here on this earth and he endured much, but he was always there ready to help any one of his 5 children, and he did. That's how I will remember him, always there for us, yes always.
