And I know that each sparkle from a loved one’s eye is like a mere glimpse of the glistening streets of gold in His Kingdom.

When we lift up our voices in harmony, I believe that it is just a simple practice of the many days we’ll spend together echoing His praises throughout the earth.

I know that your smile that I love so dearly is all that I’ll see when we’ve arrived in that place.

No longer will we deform the faces God sculpted by hand into a sorrowful, broken expression.

Each tear we shed, each sigh of sorrow will be transformed into the soothing rain and the gentle breeze that touches our faces.

All doubt and fear will wither away along with the old days, old memories, and old wounds. They will melt in the light of His power and majesty.

Our days of struggling just to hold on to His hand will end, and we will be lifted up to the highest place and finally be able to embrace the One we’ve longed to see.

Every pierce of pain we felt in our hearts will finally be wiped away by the One who has watched us in our despair and who has wept for us even when we thought we were alone.

And as we sit here and watch the earth search desperately for happiness and forgiveness, we’ll rest here in the quiet and remember the day we were rescued from this nightmare.
